Bridgeway Reads - Family Fluency 2007-2008 |
![]() |
We are excited to introduce our Bridgeway Reads - Family Fluency program this year. Each grade level has a weekly poem that goes home on Monday and is returned on Friday to the classroom teacher. Each evening, the students read the poem with a family member. This allows the students to be reading each night to improve their fluency.
Monday - Echo Reading
You read a line and your child reads the same line immediately after you.
Tuesday - Choral Reading
You and your child read the same line at the same time together, out loud.
Wednesday - Partner Reading
You take turns reading with your child. You read one sentence and your child reads the next sentence.
Thursday - Choice Night
Choose a fun way to read the text!
Remember--fluency is reading out loud with expression and making it sound like talking.
Every Friday there is a drawing in the students' classroom when they return their completed fluency poem signed by an adult. Every Monday, the drawing winners are announced on our morning announcements and they receive a Bridgeway Bulldog award.
READ, READ, READ!!!
